John’s Baptism Story
John S.. was baptized on Sunday, August 16th because he wanted to commit his life to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Click through to read his baptism story. We hope you read his story below and join us in praising God and praying for John as he takes this step of faith.
“I had a very rough childhood. Before I had Jesus in my life, I was a wicked, bitter drug addict and alcoholic. I lived a life of misery and took every chance I could to escape the pain I felt and to not have to feel feelings. The last night I ever drank alcohol ended with the barrel of a loaded gun in my mouth. My mother saw it and called the police. I sat in my bedroom with the house surrounded by police. At my lowest moment when I had nowhere left to run, I cried out for help to a God that I wasn't sure existed. In that moment, I felt a peace wash over that I had been looking for in bottles, and pills, and powders for many years. That was the end of my old life and the beginning of my new life. In the years following that fateful night, my life has changed in many ways. I've seen many miracles big and small. I have been chasing Jesus and learning and growing ever since.
I want to dedicate my life to the God that saved my life and to be able to use my story and my experiences to help others. I want to help others find God and connect with the Lord. I want to keep growing my faith and to connect with a family of believers.”
