If you’ve made it this far, there must be something about Jesus that has drawn you here. We are so glad you’ve taken this first step to understand why we believe that there is hope for everyone in Jesus.

At BridgePointe we are a family of people changed by Good News, or the Gospel — a word that literally means “good news” in Greek. If we could sit and tell you our stories, you would hear how we each encountered Jesus and the difference He’s made in our lives.

Of course we would love to meet you, and perhaps over a cup of coffee, share why we believe the life, death and resurrection of Jesus is good news for us today. Just reach out to us or come visit us on a Sunday. But for now, we hope this web page gives you a glimpse at the depth of God’s love for us and the transformative potential of the Gospel on your life.

Whether you're new to these concepts or seeking a fresh perspective, we invite you to read through the four steps below.

1 - God Loves us and wants to give us Life

Some people believe that God is just waiting for us to mess up so He can punish and condemn us. Nothing is further from the truth. God loves us because He created us. We were made for a relationship with God. Every one of the deepest desires of our soul—the desire for love, joy, peace, hope, purpose, and more—come from God. And all along, He intended to be the one who would provide exactly what we are looking for in life. If you’ve ever felt a desire this world can’t satisfy, you’ve already discovered a clue that reveals you were made to experience life with God.

“And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.” – Ephesians 3:18-19

2- we run from him. This leads to Brokenness.

True love cannot exist without the freedom to choose. So, God gave us the choice to find life in Him or run from Him to find life on our own terms. If we are honest, we have all ran from God which always results in brokenness. When life doesn’t work as it should, we feel brokenness all around us—sadness, anger, stress, fear, loneliness and more. The big question is what do we do about it? Do we accept it as the only option? Or do we explore ways to get back to what life was always suppose to be?

Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the LORD God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the LORD God among the trees of the garden. 9 But the LORD God called to the man, “Where are you?” – Genesis 3:8-9

3 - JESUS CAME TO MAKE IT BETTER

Because of God’s love for us, His heart breaks over our brokenness. He loves us too much to leave us to deal with it on our own. At just the right time, God came to earth in the person of Jesus to make the brokenness all better again. The miracles of Jesus provide a glimpse of the power Jesus has to make better everything that is broken in the world. His death was to pay the penalty for all the times we have turned our back on God. Someone had to pay, but God provided a way for us to be forgiven when Jesus took the penalty we deserved. And the resurrection of Jesus proves that Jesus can promise victory over the worst this world has to offer—even death itself.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16

4 - We receive life WHEN WE TRuST IN hiM.

Again, God gives a choice. We have the freedom to deal with the brokenness of this world on our own, apart from Jesus. But that guarantees more of the same results that have left us unsatisfied up to this point. The other option is to understand that we can’t fix the problem ourselves and admit that we need help from God. When we believe in Jesus, accept Him as our Lord and that He came to heal our brokenness, we receive from God the life He created us to enjoy—with peace, joy, hope, love, a new identity and so much more. This new life in Jesus includes healing for our past, help in the present through the Holy Spirit, and hope for the future in the promise of heaven.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” – 2 Corinthians 5:17

What’s next?

If you or someone you know is ready to trust in Jesus for the first time, it’s important to discover your next step with Jesus.

  1. Believe
This means you know who Jesus is and you trust what Jesus says.

  2. Repent
This means that you recognize your need for Jesus, ask for forgiveness, and change your direction to start following Him.

  3. Baptism
This is a physical act of commitment that is intended to accompany a personal decision to trust and follow Jesus. It is a powerful demonstration to God and others that you are “all in” for Jesus.  Learn more HERE.
