Child Dedication - May 18

On Sunday, May 18, we celebrated the commitment of four families to raise their children to know and love Jesus. It’s a special moment in their families, and for all of us in our BP Family as well. Celebrate with us and pray for these parents and their children!

Longo / Blaisdell Family Dedicates Alice Clara Longo

In dedicating Alice Clara Longo, Dave and Katey reflect on Matthew 19:14,

"Jesus said, 'Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these."

The Correia Family Dedicates Nico Thomas

Allen and Victoria focus on these scriptures and offer a prayer for Nico as he grows in the Lord…

Luke 1:14: “He will be a joy and delight to you, and many will rejoice because of his birth.”

Jeremiah 1:5: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

Heavenly Father, We thank You for the precious gift of our son, Nico Thomas. Before he was even conceived, You knew him. You set him apart, and we believe with all our hearts that You have a beautiful, sacred purpose for his life. Today, with deep gratitude, we dedicate him to You, trusting that Your loving hand will guide him every step of the way.

Long before Nico Thomas was here with us, You were already at work in our hearts. You called us to surrender our plans and to open ourselves to Yours. We prayed for peace in the waiting, and You met us with a calm only Your Spirit could bring. You spoke so clearly to me in a dream; a dream of labor filled with peace and of a child born into pure joy. The next morning, we laid our plans at Your feet, surrendering all to You. Just two weeks later, we found out we were pregnant. Nico Thomas's life is a living testimony of Your faithfulness, Your perfect timing, and Your boundless grace.

We chose the name Nico, meaning “victory of the people,” and Thomas, after the disciple who valued honesty and truth. These names are not just beautiful; they represent our deepest prayers for who Nico Thomas will become: a man who walks in victory and brings light to others, a man who values integrity, authenticity, and the truth of Your Word.

May Nico Thomas bring joy and delight to all who meet him, and may many rejoice because of his life. May he grow strong in body, mind, and spirit, deeply rooted in Your love and firmly grounded in Your truth. We ask that You surround him with Your protection, bless him with wisdom, and fill his heart with peace, kindness, and courage. May he grow to be a man of unwavering faith, integrity, and joy, marked by gentleness, wisdom, and a deep love for others.

Help us, as his parents, to walk faithfully beside him. Give us the grace to lead with patience, strength when we are weary, and wisdom for the journey ahead. May our home always be a place where Your presence dwells, and where Nico Thomas is nurtured to become all You’ve created him to be.

We are also so thankful for Nico Thomas's grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; to all those who love him, pray for him, and support him. May their influence, through You, continue to be a foundation of strength and blessing in his life.

We are profoundly grateful for the love and support of our church family, and especially for those who have prayed for us and walked alongside us in this season. Today, in front of You, our family, and our church community, we humbly place our sweet Nico Thomas in Your hands, trusting wholeheartedly in Your perfect plan, just as we did that morning we surrendered our plans and our bodies at your feet.

Our sweet Nico Thomas, we love you with all our hearts. You are our miracle, our joy, and our treasure. We thank God everyday for you, and we are so blessed to be your mama and your daddy. We will always love you unconditionally, protect you fiercely, and cherish you endlessly, as we watch you grow in His eternal love.

In Jesus’ holy name, we pray, Amen.

The Harris Family Dedicates Kaleb Blake Harris

In dedicating Kaleb, KB and Morgan pray:

Lord, your word says in Jeremiah 29:12, “In those days when you pray, I will listen. Your word also says, “Yet you don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it.” James 4:2

Lord, you heard our prayers. We’re forever grateful you chose us and brought our son into our lives. Thank you, Lord. Lord, fill my husband and me with wisdom to train our son in the way he should go, according to your will. We pray you surround our son with good things that he’ll grow in YOUR WILL and YOUR WAYS. We’re dedicating our son to you, Lord. We declare his dedication won’t be fleeting or temporary, but a lifelong devotion to You and Your Word. Lord, he belongs to you.

Have your way in his life, Lord, in Jesus' name, Amen!

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah‬ ‭29:11‬ ‭NLT‬

The Johnson Family Dedicates Michael IV

Michael III and Nicole refer to Proverbs 8:7-11 as they dedicate Michael IV to the Lord:

"My mouth speaks what is true,
    for my lips detest wickedness.
All the words of my mouth are just;
    none of them is crooked or perverse.
To the discerning all of them are right;
    they are upright to those who have found knowledge.
Choose my instruction instead of silver,
    knowledge rather than choice gold,
for wisdom is more precious than rubies,
    and nothing you desire can compare with her."
