Child Dedication: Iva’s Blessing
Lukas and Baily dedicated their daughter Iva as a part of our NextGen Sunday on October 11th. Below is a letter to Iva that Lukas shared with their blessing for her. Join us in praying for this family!
Iva,
We named you, "Iva Keith" after your great grandmother and your grandfather. Both were individuals who held on to their faith in Jesus through great difficulties and made it to the end of this life with their eyes set upon the hope of heaven. While your mother was carrying you, her pregnancy was also incredibly difficult- to the point that we could not be completely sure if we'd ever get to meet you. Even so, we felt that God gave us Psalm 27:13-14 to hang on to. Psalm 27:13-14 says:
I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord In the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the Lord.
We felt the Lord confirm these verses during your delivery as our hospital stay included a visit to two rooms in two different departments- these rooms were numbered 13 and 14, respectively. So just as we hoped in the Lord while we waited for you, and just as your namesakes hoped and waited in the Lord, we pray God's will and the same over you: that you will be strong and courageous and that you will long to see the goodness of the Lord every day of your life. We know that we are just a part of God's plans for your life, but we are blessed to be your Mama and Papa.
