BPYTH’s Incredible Week at Word of Life Camp
What an amazing week our BPYTH students just experienced at Word of Life Camp in NY! Our middle schoolers headed to The Ridge while our high schoolers took on The Island, and both groups came back with hearts full of joy, new friendships, and most importantly, a deeper love for Jesus.
The Ridge Adventures
Our middle school crew dove headfirst into the fun with some epic mud pit games that left everyone covered from head to toe (and loving every minute of it!). The week wrapped up with an unforgettable Friday night Rodeo that had everyone cheering and laughing together. Between the muddy mayhem and cowboy competition, these students created memories that will last a lifetime.
Island Life
Meanwhile, our high schoolers were busy with their own set of adventures on The Island. The Bubar Bash team competition brought out everyone's competitive spirit, and Comedy Night had the whole camp cracking up with hilarious skits and performances. The energy and enthusiasm from this group was absolutely contagious!
Hearts Changed Forever
But the real highlight of both camps happened Wednesday night around the campfire. Under a canopy of stars, our students heard a powerful message from 1 John 2:15 about not loving the world but loving God instead. The "Wanted: Dead and Alive" theme, woven throughout the Book of Jonah, challenged our students to consider what it means to be truly alive in Christ.
God moved in incredible ways that night. Nine students made a first time commitment to Jesus, and many others made new commitments to following Jesus more closely and take their faith more seriously. Watching these young people respond to God's call was absolutely breathtaking and reminded us why we do what we do.
The Adventure Continues
As we transition from the mountains and lakes back to everyday life, we're excited to see how God continues to work in our students' hearts. Youth Group starts back up on Wednesday, August 13th, and we can't wait to reconnect with everyone and hear more stories from camp.
Mark your calendars for Wednesday, August 27th - we're hosting a Color War and want all our students to bring their friends for an evening of fun, games, and community. It's going to be epic!
The western theme may be over, but the real adventure is just beginning. We're so grateful for each student who joined us and can't wait to see what God has in store for BPYTH this year!
