BP’s student group came back a little sleep deprived, but charged up and riding on the high from their time at Deep Freeze at Camp Berea in New Hampshire. Thank you church for all your support for Nelson, his team and the students. Both your prayers and your financial sponsorship had a significant impact on the success of this year’s winter retreat.

BridgePointe’s student ministry just came back from an unforgettable weekend at Deep Freeze at Camp Berea in NH. With a group of 57 middle and high school students and 10 dedicated leaders, the retreat was a unique blend of spiritual enrichment, fellowship, and adventure. The theme for the retreat was 'Harmony,' and from the mesmerizing illusions to the snowy adventures, every moment echoed the spirit of unity and togetherness.
The retreat started with a bang as Brian Drake the main speaker and illusionist, took center stage performing mind-bending tricks. He encouraged students to use their unique gifts and talents to share the good news with those around them, emphasizing the importance of working together in harmony.
One of the most impactful aspects of the retreat was the relationships that blossomed among the students. In small group sessions, students engaged in deep, meaningful conversations with their leaders, fostering connections that will last beyond the retreat. The theme of harmony resonated as students discovered the beauty of coming together, sharing experiences, and supporting one another on their faith journeys.
The wooded winter landscape of Camp Berea provided the perfect backdrop for a variety of exciting activities. Students embraced the thrill of snow tubing, racing down the slopes with laughter and joy. Rock climbing tested their physical and mental strength, while team challenges pushed them to work in unison, reinforcing the retreat's theme of harmony. Even the polar plunge, a daring dive into icy waters, became a symbol of courage and camaraderie.
Sportsmanship and teamwork took center stage as our groupsecured the basketball championship. The victory not only showcased their athletic prowess but also highlighted the spirit of unity that spread through the entire retreat. We are so proud of them for representing our church with teamwork and sportsmanship. Way to go BP!
As the retreat unfolded, a significant number of students chose to take a next step in their faith journey. Some recognized that they need to spend more time in scripture and prayer, while others came to understand that they need to start living in a way that better represents Jesus. I’m also praising God because we saw some students make the life-changing decision to follow Jesus for the first time, marking a pivotal moment in their lives.
Deep Freeze was a retreat full of unforgettable moments. As the students returned home, they carried with them both memories of fun and a deeper understanding of the importance of unity, fellowship, and spreading the gospel's message in harmony with one another.
