For almost six years, Erin Parks served as a steady presence with the Worship Arts team, often leading our church in worship on Sundays, as well as serving as a small group leader on different occasions. But, sadly, her season here has come to a close, as she and her family have moved back to Tennessee to be closer to family. Unfortunately, this was a very quick transition for them because their youngest boys, Thomas and Preston, started middle school at the beginning of August. Erin served for the last time on our Night of Worship on August 4th. We were able to send her off in prayer as a team, but we did miss the opportunity to pray over her family as a church.
1 Peter 4:10 says, "Each of you should use whatever gift have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms." Our church, and especially our worship team, has grown in tremendous ways because of the way that Erin faithfully stewarded her gifts to serve others, and we deeply benefitted from the way her deep love for Jesus poured out into every aspect of her life.
While we already miss the Parks family, please pray for them as they settle into life in Tennessee. And because Erin did not have an opportunity to share this on a Sunday before she left, she wanted to pass along a few parting words of her own.
From Erin
Hi BridgePointe! “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:”Ecclesiastes 3:1 NIV
When my family and I moved to New England, we knew it would be for a season. What we didn’t know was how quickly that season would come to an end. We lived in New England seven years and for six of those years, we called BridgePointe home. As I reflect over our time here, I’m thankful for God’s faithfulness. One of the ways He displayed his faithfulness to us was how He lead us to BridgePointe, where we’ve made lasting friendships and for all we learned about the Lord during that time. I’m personally grateful for the way Pastor Jared and Rachel saw in me the gift of worship and allowed me the opportunity to serve and worship with you. I have learned the most under their leadership about the way they display love, humility and faithfulness that comes when serving God and others. It has been a true honor to have served along side Rachel and the praise team where, together with the church, we have grown in our worship. Thank you, BridgePointe for allowing me and my family to be and play a part of what God is doing in New England. BridgePointe, the best is yet to come. I love you all!
