BridgePointe Family,
Managing finances is part of every family’s responsibility and that is also true of the church. In the spirit of transparency, partnership, and stewardship, it is the church’s practice to provide a mid-year financial update. It is a joy for me to share how God has provided for BridgePointe through the generosity of its people, especially through such a turbulent and challenging year.
Each year, the Administrative Leadership Team (ALT) prayerfully constructs a budget based on projected income and ministry expenses related to the disciple-making mission of the church. This year, giving has exceeded our monthly budget projections. Year-to-date, our collective generosity has surpassed our projected need by 12%! If you have contributed this year, thank you so much for doing your part to help the church be financially strong and sustainable. With so much else to give our attention to, it has been a blessing not to have to worry about the financial stability of the church.
Even more, this has enabled BridgePointe to take significant steps to prepare for future growth. We were able to confidently negotiate a lease extension for our facility with additional options to renew in the future. This gives us short-term security and long-term flexibility so that we can explore all options to determine what will best serve the purposes and plans God has for us.
Through the staff transitions of the past few months, we have hired a new BP Kids Director and continue the search for our next Student Director. BridgePointe’s financial strength enabled the hiring of a new position—Director of Ministries—which will support and develop our ministry staff and bring increased effectiveness to the operational side of ministry. This new position will enable me to have more capacity to continue to set the vision of the church and focus more on my pastoral and teaching responsibilities. Each of these hires prepare us for growth—both here and at future locations.
While we navigate the ongoing challenges of COVID, we are approaching the fall with excitement and optimism. We are eager to refocus on Small Groups and Discipleship, especially after the toll the pandemic has taken on our relational environments. We look forward to seeing BP Kids and Student Ministries grow under new leadership. We have just completed our ten-week series “The Flame” in the book of Acts and have been so encouraged by stories of transformation through the power of the Holy Spirit. This study of Acts has affirmed that nothing can stop the Kingdom work of the Holy Spirit among those who belong to Jesus.
