Psalm 1 - Prayer for All Seasons
Weekly Memory Verse: Psalm 1:1-3
Blessed is the one
who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers,
but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night
That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither—
whatever they do prospers.

Bookend Psalm Reading Plan
Read two psalms a day this summer!
Each day, we will read two Psalms using a unique "bookend" approach—pairing the first and last Psalms on day one, the second and second-to-last on day two, and working our way steadily inward. Reading the Psalms in these reverse-paired sequences reveals that the Psalter is not a random collection of 150 independent songs, but a beautifully arranged, intentional book. The ancient editors carefully designed the layout to contrast themes of human wisdom and suffering with ultimate divine deliverance and universal praise.
You can learn more about the Psalms over at The Bible Project - check it out!!
Day 38: Psalm 119 alone
