While student group may’ve taken a break from their regular Wednesday night meetings, they have not taken a break from following after Jesus together. Girls and guys small group leaders gathered students together for fun summer hangouts, middle and high school students had amazing camp experiences in NY and NH, and the Color War brought it home with a ton of fun and a chance to reconnect.
Summer Retreats
Both our middle and high school groups had amazing experiences at their respective summer retreats. Let's dive into the highlights!
Our middle schoolers headed off to Camp Monadnock in Jaffrey, NH (click for photo album). There, they were treated to a series called "Big World, Bigger God" by Pastor Duffy Robbins. Based on Hebrews 11:1, the talks explored how there's so much more to this world than what meets the eye. It really got our kids thinking!
Meanwhile, our high school crew ventured to Word of Life Island in Pottersville, NY (click for photo album). Pastor Dennis D'Augostine spent the week sharing the core message of Jesus, talking about why we can trust the Bible, and reassuring everyone that it's totally normal (and okay!) for Christians to have doubts sometimes.
These camp experiences are such a big deal for our students. They do an incredible job of bringing everyone together and helping build healthy habits for growing in faith. It's not just about fun and games (though there's plenty of that too!) – it's about creating an environment where our young people can really connect with God and each other.
And let me tell you, we saw some amazing results! Every single one of our students took steps to get closer to Jesus during these retreats. Many of them made new commitments to following Christ more closely in their daily lives. But here's the most exciting part –5 of our high school students made a first time commitment to Jesus while at camp! How awesome is that?
We're so grateful for everyone who makes these trips possible. To our church family and all the volunteers who support our student ministry – thank you! Your prayers, time, and contributions are making a real difference in these young lives. It's clear that God is working through these camps in powerful ways. We can't wait to see how our students continue to grow and apply what they've learned throughout the year. Here's to many more summers of life-changing experiences!
Color War
Over fifty students came to the Color War on August 14. With a massive inflatable water slide, games, dinner on the grill, and an epic color war students had a blast hanging out with each other. Many students invited friends and reconnected with their leaders and each other. Check out the photos above or the google album for a taste of the fun they had.
The Bridge student group will be starting up regular Wednesday night group 8/28. Let a student in your life know there’s a place just for them at The Bridge!
