Gabriella S. was baptized on May 15, declaring Jesus as king of her life. Spending most of her life in church but not feeling like she had a true relationship with God, her heart was recently changed and she encountered the Holy Spirit for herself. She then felt called to be baptized. She shares her story below.
Parents, if you have been talking to your child about baptism and want to know how you know they are ready or what your next step is, consider taking our upcoming class, NextGen Baptism Lab on June 9th.
“For most of my childhood, I would go to church because it was a part of our routine as a family but, to me, it didn’t mean anything; it was just something I had to do. I didn’t feel like I had a relationship with God.
Recently, my family made the decision to join BridgePointe. It was a really hard decision as a family, but I knew in my heart that my family was making the right recision and I couldn’t wait to see what was in store at this new church.
For the past two months, BridgePointe has changed everything for me, from relationships to craving more of the Holy Spirit. There was one moment on a Sunday where we were singing to our opening song. I felt the Holy Spirit; it felt more like someone was there. It was such a beautiful experience, something that I have never felt before.
Immediately after this experience, the thought of getting baptized came to my mind. The thought of getting baptized has come to my mind before but it never felt like this. Today, I stand before God ready for this journey and for Him to continue to be in my life.”
