“I decided to get baptized because I want to be closer to God and be saved. Before I found Jesus, I was living life working, stressing, and relying on myself to do everything I needed to do. I grew up Catholic and even went to Catholic schools, but it was the same thing every Sunday and the same routine. I never picked up the Bible.
I met my wife and she was a Christian. She invited me to church and I was like, “Well, I’m Catholic and fine with it.” I went with her anyway and ended up liking it because there was energy in the room and it was personable; everyone there tries to know you and greet you and thank you for coming. The Holy Spirit was in me when I went every weekend.
Then came somthing in my life unexpected: a trial, a sickness, and my focus shifted to the Bible and to prayer. I was so scared and I asked God to heal me. Every day, I would read the Bible and try to understand it. I read His words that He can heal anything, whatever He started in you He would finish in you, to have faith in Him, to abide in Him, to put your confidence in Him, that He will not forsake you. Reading His words and praying has made me stronger in my relationship with Him. I want that to continue and being baptized will strengthen the relationship I have with Him.
Jesus, please forgive me for all my faults I ever committed and thank you for healing me. I will always be your fruitful branch on your vine. God Bless.”
