BridgePointe’s service times are changing on September 29, 2019.
Our new service times will be: 8:30 am, 10:00 am and 11:30 am. This is big news because everyone will be affected. The biggest change regards the end of our Sunday evening service.
We started the evening service last October with the hope that it would provide a worship opportunity for those who couldn’t attend a morning service. We also needed the evening service to create space in our morning services so that we would have room to welcome more people across all three worship services.
Over the last year, we have seen many wonderful things happen in the evening service. First and foremost, the church worked together to try something new so that more people would become disciples of Jesus in relationships. That’s a big win all by itself. The evening service connected new people to BridgePointe, and some of them have since been baptized. And for the past year, every Sunday evening, people gathered to worship the God who is so good to us. All of these are good things.
As people are reestablishing the routine that comes with fall, we sense that this evening service is struggling to serve its intended purposes of reaching people who can’t come in the mornings and providing room across all services to continue growing. As summer and the start of school have taken a toll on attendance in the evening, this service is no longer offering the same engaging environment that is experienced in our morning services.
Because of this, we’ve determined that the energy and effort of our staff and incredible volunteer teams would be better invested in three Sunday morning services. Starting Sunday, September 29th, BridgePointe’s new service times will be 8:30 am, 10:00 am, and 11:30 am. We are praying that this fall season will present opportunities for people to invite their Ones, for those from the community to give us a chance, for BP people to grow consistently. Because we believe the church will be better set up for this to happen after the transition, we are choosing to make this transition sooner rather than later.
If you serve on a Ministry Team, you are among the many who have served and sacrificed to make BridgePointe what it is today. We thank you so much for the countless hours, the prayer and preparation, the joyful service you offer to the Lord and His church. Your ministry director will be communicating with you about how this will affect the serving positions and schedules. Please take a minute to communicate with him or her about how and when you’d like to continue serving within your team. This will be so helpful as we get ready for this transition.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this transition, we welcome you to reach out to a member of our Staff team.
And, finally, as this time change creates more space in attractive and accessible worship times, please pray for God to give you ONE person to share His love with through an invitation to one of our new service times.
