As we continue in our 40 Days in John together, we have reached our second day of fasting and prayer. For this Wednesday and the remaining Wednesdays of Lent our intentions will include a prayer point for each of the following:
The Cross - to turn our attention to the sacrifice of Jesus.
The Word - to reinforce the primary challenge of Sunday’s teaching.
The Church - to pray together for the Gospel work that we share.
Here are the prayer points for Day 13, February 28:
The Cross
Our sacrifices can make us more mindful of Jesus’ sacrifice. When you’re hungry or when you take time to pray, confess your sin to Jesus and thank Him for the forgiveness you have received.
The Word
We saw on Sunday that Jesus has all authority in heaven and on earth. Ask God to reveal the part of your life that still needs to be surrendered to Jesus and invite God to have His way in you.
The Church
Leaders help the church to stay focused on Jesus and faithful to Him. Spend time praying for our leaders—the Shepherds, the staff team, group and team leaders, and teachers for kids and students. Pray that they serve with wisdom, humility, and effectiveness for God’s glory and the good of the church.
