Baptism Story: Aida D.

As a child I was baptized and raised Catholic. As a teen I met Pastor Mike. He ran the Shepherds club and I still have my membership card. I had no idea he gave us the experience of Christian fellowship. I just thought it was a good experience for me, meeting new people and experiencing different beliefs. Over the years I simply stopped going to church. I always believed in a higher power, I just always felt like I never fit in anywhere.

My daughter Mellissa and her best friend Krystal reconnected. Mellissa and I started attending BridgePointe. Our first visit the vibe was good and it just continued to be good. It's home. No one judges your appearance, which is a big plus for me. Everyone seems to care and are welcoming. Pastor Jared seems down to earth but delivers the message as needed –Storylines, Shift, Our Father, and now Christmas. The Our Father series was one of my favorites.

I learned to open up my communication line with God, I pray a lot more. I read the Bible, now imagine that! For over a month I have questioned if I should be baptized. So, I prayed on it and my morning Bible verse on 12-17-17 was, 1 John 1:5-7  "This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.  If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin."

Thank you for praying for me. I am ONE.
