We Gave Love Away

In February, BridgePointe participated in it’s 4th annual Give Love Away event. Give Love Away is a series of events that provide an opportunity for the church to share God’s love with our community through tangible acts of kindness.

Beginning on Valentine’s Day weekend, we visited six local nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and retirement communities. Hundreds of residents were excited to receive free flowers and cards made by the BridgePointe Kid’s Ministry. In the many conversations that took place the residents felt loved and valued.

At the Alex and Ani Center, free hot chocolate and coffee were greatly appreciated by 300+ ice skaters and pedestrians. A newly painted ladies locker room at the East Providence Recreation Center surprised many who are now enjoying the TLC it received. Finally, several families had the privilege of serving an evening meal to hundreds of under-resourced individuals together at the Providence Rescue Mission.

Within the last few weeks we’ve already seen people begin attending BridgePointe after meeting the church at one of the Give Love Away events. God is using these small acts of kindness to lead to them to a community that cares for them and ultimately a God that loves them. We can’t wait to see how the seeds of love planted will grow.

Better Together,
