Snow Day - Worship at Home

Due to the timing of the winter storm hitting this weekend, we are canceling all services for tomorrow, Sunday, February 9th.

Gathering together is important to our faith, but when that is not possible, you can still honor the Sabbath at home. If you have missed any recent sermons, this could be a good opportunity to catch up on what you have missed from our sermon archives. You can also check out our Revelation guide with links to sermons and other resources.

If you have never worshipped at home with your family, here is a simple framework you could follow:

  1. Open with Prayer

Gather your family in the living room or around a table.  Have someone open with a prayer. You could each take turns if you desire.

  2. Worship with Song
Sing or listen to some of your favorite hymns or worship songs. You can watch an old service from our Youtube archive and worship along with the recording. You could also have someone read the words of a Psalm.

  3. Scripture
Catch up with a sermon you have missed from our Sermon Archives. Or, have someone read a passage of Scripture and discuss it. If this is something you are uncomfortable with, ask for the Spirit’s wisdom and trust that God will help.

  4. Communion
Read 1 Corinthians 11:23-26 and take communion. If you don’t have grape juice and crackers, be creative with what you have.

  5. Give
You can do this online. This act of worship expresses devotion to God and enables the church to carry out His mission.

  6. Close with Testimony & Prayer
As you close, have each person share what God has been doing in their life and give Him praise for it. Mindful of everything God has done for you, pray for those near you that are far from God, and pray that God would use you in the upcoming week to bring His Kingdom to earth by the power of His Spirit.

We will miss gathering together, but we are praying that you find your own way to honor the Sabbath and be blessed by it. We look forward to being together again next Sunday!
