Baptism Stories - December 15
During services on December 15th, members of the BP Family were privileged to witness and celebrate the baptisms of Brian P. and Leah C. as they expressed their faith and commitment to following Jesus. Leah speaks in her testimony below of the encouragement of her husband Al, who gave his life to Christ in baptism earlier this year in August. Share our joy as months later Al baptizes his wife Leah!
Brian’s Story
I was raised a Catholic and I went through all the steps: catechism, 1st communion, and confirmation. I was even an altar boy. But I felt that I never understood the whole story. I was just going through the motions.
My son started going to BridgePointe with his girlfriend about a year ago. He invited my wife to join him and, after a little while, my daughter and her boyfriend started to go also. They would all come back from church with a different attitude, a different mood. They were excited- almost like they were refreshed. I had to see what this was all about.
Almost right away during my first service I felt that this was right and that I was starting to understand. I was feeling rejuvenated and I was feeling something spiritual- it was tugging at all my emotions. I knew this is where I needed to be. I knew Jesus was in my life. He was always there and now I want to surrender my life to him.
leah’s Story
This year my husband began attending BP. He encouraged me to attend as he found his faith and was baptized. I quickly noticed the positive change in him. We were struggling in our marriage and our daughter was facing some medical challenges. I was overwhelmed with life! Many signs had been put before me to make me aware of the path that I should take. I prayed for guidance and strength and it was given to me! I now know that I am not alone. It has been made clear to me how present Jesus is in my life and baptism is the next step.
