Baptism Story: David R.
David is a co-worker of Mike Moniz, one of BridgePointe’s shepherds. Mike invited David to come to church, and he came for the first time on a Sunday in June, 2021. That Sunday happened to be our Picnic & Baptism celebration at Bristol Town Beach, and despite only coming to church for the first time that morning, Dave showed up with a large container of ribs to share with others, meet people, and start to understand what it meant to be part of our church family.
Since then, David has attended consistently on Sundays, joined a small group and taken the Baptism Lab class. Despite taking the class, David still struggled with surrendering his life to Jesus. However, the Holy Spirit was at work in his heart, convicting David and he felt he could not have peace, nor experience change in his life until he surrendered to Jesus through baptism. David emailed Jared to meet and talk on a Tuesday and was baptized on Wednesday. He felt an urgency to commit his life to Jesus and was baptized by Mike Moniz after work with a couple of co-workers, and friends from BridgePointe on hand. True to form, David brought wings and bacon to his own baptism, (they were delicious!), and we all joyfully celebrated his surrender.
Join us in praying for David as he turns a new page, takes this important step of faith and seeks to live a life with Jesus as King.
