Thanks to a Generous Church
BridgePointe, thank you for being such a generous church. I am continually overwhelmed at how you selflessly give to meet needs and make Jesus known. Just in the last month, your generosity has been powerfully demonstrated and it is making a difference. Thank you!
In November, we collected food and donations that enabled us to distribute 24 Thanksgiving baskets with turkeys to families in the community through a partnership with the East Providence Public Schools. At the same time, many of you donated coats through Families Helping Families, providing much needed winter wear for kids in foster families in Rhode Island. And, as soon as we launched the Giving Tree two Sundays ago, the names started flying off the virtual tree as you were eager to show God’s love through the generous act of gift-giving. In each of these expressions, your generosity has made God’s love more tangible to those around us.
And, finally, let me thank you for the way you responded to last week’s Giving Tuesday communication. We shared a financial need with you and the church responded with overwhelming generosity. Through the contributions received last week, we not only covered the remainder of Jacob’s support for this year but also closed the fourth quarter budget deficit! You’ve helped put the church in a strong and stable financial position as this year ends and the new one begins. I am so humbled by the generosity of this church. Thank you for continuing to contribute in order make known the love of God and move forward the mission of Jesus.
Sincerely,
Jared Cowgur
Lead Pastor
