Fall Class Highlight: FPU

Financial Peace University (FPU) is an 8 week class that teaches step-by-step how to create a budget, pay off debt, spend wisely, and save for the future. Brian Cowgur has led this class for the past couple of years and we’ve had a good number of stories come out of the class. Here are two recent FPU “graduates” sharing about their experience and why you should join. Our next class starts September 24th, sign up online to join.

DIANE’S STORY

What made you decide to join FPU?

I joined FPU because I wanted to know where all my income was going. It seems like it goes quicker than it comes in. I wanted to learn to live within my means and be debt free. I also wanted to be able to help others and secure my future.

What is it like being a part of FPU?

It was awesome! Learning step by step to achieve financial stability was very rewarding. It helped me see that see that everyone can achieve it, if they are committed. Also, the teaching team was always available to answer any questions I had.

What would you say to someone who hasn't done FPU yet?

FPU is a must for everyone. Once you start the program and find out where your money is going, it's an eye opener. And then, once you budget and tell your dollars where to go, you almost feel like you got a raise. It's a step by step process that anyone can do.

What would someone gain by taking the class?

Primarily, peace. Knowing you can pay your bills each week, pay down debt, save for now and the future is comforting. You will also learn tools you can share with your children to keep them from getting in debt.

AMELIA’S STORY

What made you decide to join FPU?

I needed to stop my financial bleeding, get out of debt and stop spending so much money.

What is it like being a part of FPU?

It's like being part of a group of folks who are trying to understand how to get a grip on spending, and budgeting – all while being reminded of who's money we need to be good stewards of.

What would you say to someone who hasn't done FPU yet?

If you think you have a problem with money and want to get out debt, you gotta do this! If you do, you will gain freedom and blessings.
